Split croissant lengthwise, leaving a hinge. Lightly butter cut side.

Layer ham folded into ribbons. Top with cheddar slices.

Bake 4 min at 180°C until cheese melts and croissant is crisp on the edges.

Crack black pepper across the top. Plate immediately — croissants soften on a warm plate.

Pass under 60 seconds from the oven.
